For those that do not know Donny's story, here is a brief summary. The week before Labor Day of 2016 Donny was experiencing mood and personality changes very uncharacteristic for him. He went to the emergency room twice in three days, on his second visit they finally decided to do a CT scan, where they found what they thought was a benign cystic mass on his right frontal lobe. He decided to get a second and actually a third opinion as well. After initially being misdiagnosed On September 6, 2016 Donny was diagnosed with a brian tumor. Which we later found out was a Grade 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma brain tumor. He quickly had surgery a week later to remove his tumor. His surgery was successful in the fact they got all of the tumor they could see out. On Oct 17 Donny started his first round of chemotherapy and started his 33 treatments of radiation. Donny had minimal side effects from his treatments and finished on Dec 1, 2016. He was able to enjoy the holidays with friends and family with a whole month off from treatments. At the start of the new year Donny began his second phase of treatment, 12 cycles of chemotherapy for 2017. Donny continues to feel amazing and keep his positive outlook on life.
So that brings us here. In our cancer support group tonight, which we attend once a month which is specifically for patients with brain tumors and their caregivers, we heard about the BT5k and we decided we needed to give back, help, and support others. So please help us and donate to a cause that is near and dear to our hearts. Donny may be doing well, but just like most brain tumors we have no idea how this happened or what causes most brain tumors. Your money will not only go to research but go towards supporting brain tumor patients and their families as well. We feel that this is the least we can do to give back. Especially after all the love and support we recieved from the moment Donny was diagnosed. Everyone is welcome to join Donny and I, we certainly won't be doing any running, but feel free to come walk with us!

Each day, 500 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumor. To show my support, I will be participating in the American Brain Tumor Association's BT5K Breakthrough for Brain Tumors Run & Walk. Money raised by the BT5K will provide critical funding for brain tumor research and for supportive patient care.
You can support me in my efforts by making a donation to the American Brain Tumor Association.
