We are walking for TEAM KBC!
On Tuesday, March 28th, with no previous symptoms and just 73 days shy of her wedding, Katie passed out at home. She woke up, called her doctor and went to the emergency room. Following a series of tests, doctors discovered a tumor in the top right side of her brain, and scheduled surgery for removal.
On Thursday, March 30th, Katie underwent a successful surgery at Northwestern hospital to remove the tumor and wait for pathology results. The results were not what doctors had expected, Katie's tumor was a rare Glioblastoma that started as low grade and quickly morphed into a grade 4 aggressive tumor.
Now, not even 3 weeks since Katie's fall, Katie and her family are considering her treatment options which will include radiation and chemotherapy for the next year.
When someone you love goes through the unimaginable, you fight back. Please join the cause. Walk, run or donate.
