Seven years ago this May I lost my Dad to brain cancer.
This past fall, I started my third year at Michigan State University. This summer I will be working as an intern in Washington, D.C. When I return for classes in the fall, I will be graduating from Michigan State University, a semester ahead of schedule. I wish more than anything that I could share these experiences and this journey with my Dad becuase I know he would be very proud of me. My achievements and successes have come with many long, difficult days. My Dad wasn't here for the college breakdowns about school finances or dumb teenage girl drama, or there to take my calls home in the middle of the night when I am sick, or just missing home. He has missed out on one too many things, and we miss him everyday.
No one should have to experience the loss of someone close to them because of cancer. It is becuase of this that we participate in the ABTA 5K. This will be Team ChapDaddy's 9th year participating in the walk.
Come and join our team on May 12th to walk in support of all those who are fighting and those who have won, or in memory of those who have lost. If you cannot attend, please consider making a donation. Your donation not only supports brain tumor patients and their families, but it also supports the breakthrough research to improve, extend and ultimately save lives. Help me to reach my goal!
