Dear Friends and Family,
It's astounding that it has been 6 years since the news of Michael's brain tumor and sadly since that time he has passed and both my nephew and one of my dear friends Karlyn have been diagnosed and treated for brain tumors and more disheartening 2 other friends family members have lost their battle.
I/we participated on behalf of my friend Cynthia Gilmore who lost her husband Pete to a GBM years ago and her strength and desire to advance medical research and help to brain tumor patients and their family was a cause important to us prior to Michael's diagnosis and continues for obvious reasons.
Unfortunately I will not be able to walk on behalf of the Brain Tumor Association for Cynthia's team "For Pete's Sake" this year on 3/24/18 but will be a virtual walker and will actively work with the team to raise awareness and funds for a great organization and cause. It should be applauded that her team has raised awareness in the Tampa Bay area and has had over $75000 in support the last 5 years.
Each day, 500 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumor. To show my support, I will be fundraising for the American Brain Tumor Association’s BT5K Breakthrough for Brain Tumors Run & Walk on March 25th at Al Lopez Field. Money raised by the BT5K will provide critical funding for brain tumor research and for supportive patient care.
You can support me in my efforts by making a donation to the American Brain Tumor Association.
