My team is running in memory of my husband, Dan.
Dan was diagnosed with a hemangiopericytoma behnid his right eye in July of 2009. He noticed that the Cleveland Triathlon was one year and one day following his brain surgery, so he made it his goal to train for and participate in that event. He did so every year for 4 years. It was his own way of celebrating survival. Dan passed just months prior to participating for his 5 year anniversary.
In the process, Dan inspired several friends and members of his family (wife included) to become more active. While all of us have not completed a triathlon, many of us trained with him by participating in various 5K’s over the past several years. We have not stopped. We run/walk the ABTA 5K in memory of Dan
If you can run, jog, walk, or crawl you are welcome to join our team!
