Each day, 500 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumor. In September 2013, I was one of them.
It has been a long road since that diagnosis and we are walking to mark this anniversary (or craniversary, as we survivors who have had brain surgery call it) and to celebrate with gratitude the many amazing folks who showed up during this challenging time - bringing meals, offering rides, sharing laughter, support and much more along the journey. Hence our team name of Hall's Angels.
We chose the BT5K Breakthrough for Brain Tumors Run & Walk event because it supports the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) and helps raise funding for brain tumor research and supportive patient care. This is also the organization for which I volunteer as a mentor to others going through their own brain tumor journey.
You can support me in my efforts by making a donation to the American Brain Tumor Association. Or by joining the team as a walker. We would love to see you there.

And remember, your donation is tax-deductible! You can learn more about the American Brain Tumor Association at www.abta.org. Thank you in advance for your support of my efforts on behalf of brain tumor patients, their families, and the researchers pursuing the breakthroughs.
