My brother, Geff, passed away October 15th, 2005 from complications related to a GBM. I walk and fund raise to carry on his legacy. I am raising funds in support of the Brain Tumor community for the thirteenth year. Since 2005, with your kindness, we have given over $37,000 to support Brain Tumor research, caregiver support networks, survivor support groups, and nurse advocate resourses. My passision is to see resources that invest in the research efforts and support network that service survivors, caregivers, and families. I do it to remember my brother Geff, an amazing and kind man.
Giving back to these charities does foster progress. The late Senator McCain, passed from the same type of tumor that took my brother. Research funded through donations to organizations like the ABTA provide breakthroughs in treating tumors. It gave Senator McCain nearly 2 years with his family that wasn't available 13 years ago.
Each day, 500 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumor. To show my support, I will be participating in the American Brain Tumor Association’s BT5K Breakthrough for Brain Tumors Run & Walk. Money raised by the BT5K will provide critical funding for brain tumor research and for supportive patient care.
You can support me in my efforts by making a donation to the American Brain Tumor Association.
