Each day, 500 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumor. On July 23rd, 2016 my son Declan was one of them. Following surgery, chemo, radiation and two drug trials, his tumor came back and Declan underwent a second brain surgery in Sep 2017 two new kinds of chemo and a new drugs. Declan died on February 12th this year.
He has faced his tumor and death with strength, determination and a sense of humor. Thank goodness for the support of ABTA whose support and servcies directly benefited Declan as well as funding of research to find a cure for this brutal disease.
This disease is a beast and we need a cure.
To show my support for Declan and everyone diagnosed with this disease, I will be participating in the American Brain Tumor Association's BT5K Breakthrough for Brain Tumors Run & Walk. Money raised by the BT5K will provide critical funding for brain tumor research and for supportive patient care.
