Then on August 1st I had a seizure. After a stay in the hospital, many tests and evaluations by multiple doctors, I was given a brain tumor diagnosis. My life was changed forever.
Since then I've had 2 surgeries, 6 months of radiation therapy and 6 months of chemo therapy. Having completed all that I'm finally getting back to my normal life. So far it's been a long road but I've never shied away from a fight and I'll always be ready for my next challenge.
This April I'll once again participate in the American Brain Tumor Associations BT5K to raise money for brain tumor research and to advance the understanding and treatment of brain tumors. Even though my diagnosis is still shocking I will continue to work hard, stay positive and keep focused on a cure. I will survive!!!
Each day, 500 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumor. To show my support, I will be participating in the American Brain Tumor Association's BT5K Breakthrough for Brain Tumors Run & Walk. Money raised by the BT5K will provide critical funding for brain tumor research and for supportive patient care.
