Hi! I was diagnosed with a Grade 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma after my left temporal craniotomy in October 2016. I call it a Baby Glioblastoma, because it helps me sort out my diagnosis. I never thought in a million years that *I* had BRAIN CANCER. I was healthy, fit, felt fine-- no clue that those random little "faints" over the last decade+ were actually seizures. I had no idea that you might have a brain tumor but never get headaches!
The last year and a half has been a real lesson learner. In a weird way, it's actually the best worst thing that's ever happened to me. I have a purpose in life. I want to be a brain cancer patient advocate. I want to help! I have never felt so purposeful until that scary "terminal" diagnosis. I also am eternally grateful to my neuro team at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. I feel like the brain cancer community is on the brink of finding more effective & even better treatments! Let's get there THIS YEAR!
