Each day, 500 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumor.
To show my support, I will be participating in the American Brain Tumor Association’s BT5K Breakthrough for Brain Tumors Run & Walk to honor my dad, Craig Eden, who we lost to a Glioblastoma Brain Tumor in November of 2017.
My dad was my best friend and hero, he also was one of the healtiest men I know and this disease was extremely fast moving and unexpected. After suffering a seizure out of nowhere in November 2016, he was diagnosed with the tumor within days and quickly had surgery and began treatment. He had no prior symptoms. Unfortunately, Glioblastoma is a very difficult tumor to treat and chemo/radiation and four surgeries weren't enough to overtake it. It is through further research and associations like this that we will be able to find better treatment options and prevent this horrible disease from affecting more families like mine.
I'll be making the 3.1 mile walk at just over 32 weeks pregnant so wish me luck!!
Money raised by the BT5K will provide critical funding for brain tumor research and for supportive patient care.
