I'm Jillian. In July of 2014, while 28 weeks pregnant with my son, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After 10 weeks, 13+ MRIs, a c-section to have my healthy and beautiful baby boy, and a craniectomy... my brain tumor was a pilocytic astrocytoma or a juvenile astrocytoma, and was benign. I understand that this is not the typical situation, and believe me, there is not a day that goes by that I am not thankful for my diagnosis and the life that I get to live. My heart breaks for the families affected by brain tumors and brain cancer, and I would like to help in any way that I can. The ways that seem most helpful are raising money for research and spreading awareness. The Tumanators is a kick ass team that I, with the help of my family and friends, created to walk/run the American Brain Tumor Association's Breakthrough for Brain Tumors 5K. The BT5k is Saturday, May 12 at 9am this year. The 5k is at Kensington Park, and is always a fun and beautiful atmosphere!
