2018 BT5K Twin Cities

Hammond's Hope for Healing

Hello family and friends, for the fourth year in a row, I am participating in the BT5K Twin Cities Breakthrough for Brain Tumors Run & Walk, an inspiring and fun event benefitting the American Brain Tumor Association. In February of 2015, I was diagnosed with grade 2 brain cancer, and had the tumor removed 2 days after Josiah was born in March.  In the summer of 2016, I had an additional 4 surgeries near or on the original craniotomy scar line in order to remove infection.  Throughout the past 3 years, I have been incredibly grateful for the Lord's healing power, the support and love of family and friends, and an amazing team of doctors providing excellent care.  On September 11th, at my most recent MRI, we found that the cancer has been slowly returning over the past 2 years.  I will need to undergo radiation and chemotherapy beginning in January 2019.  I have so much hope for healing, and am thankful for the resources and support the ABTA is able to provide.  We had a great time at the 5k the past 3 years, and would love to continue the tradition and form a team again this year.  Please consider walking, running, and/or donating to support this wonderful cause.

The more the merrier! I’m inviting all my friends to join my team in support of the nearly 700,000 people currently living with a brain tumor. You can join my team by clicking the join button on the right.

If you can’t make it to the BT5K Minneapolis on October 13th, 2018,  please consider making a donation to the American Brain Tumor Association in support of the team’s efforts. Click the donate button on the right.

Thank you in advance for your support of our efforts on behalf of brain tumor patients, their families, and the researchers pursuing the breakthroughs.
