Jaclyn's team, "Team JZ", will be participating for the 2nd year in the BT5K Twin Cities Breakthrough for Brain Tumors Run & Walk, an inspiring and fun event benefiting the American Brain Tumor Association. Last year was so amazing, you won't want to miss the fun the second time around! The 2017 BT5K as a whole, but particularly Team JZ, was a burst of encouragement & community that even I didn't realize I needed so much. I am humbled, honored, and grateful to the be the captain of Team JZ once again.
Each day, 500 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumor. I contributed to this statistic on January 12th, 2017. After a very short waiting period I had brain surgery on January 24th to extract a large meningioma on the front right side of my brain. Following surgery I completed 33 radiation therapy treatments which ended last June. Since then I've had numerous scans, medications, and appointments. My first official opportunity for a clear post-treatment scan is coming up this June.
My team encourages both walkers and runners to join!
