SISTER STRONG: SISTERS BONDED BY LOVE AND TRAGEDY
Sisters Vivian and Alice both succumbed to Glioblastoma, nearly 20 years apart. Vivian & Alice were best friends who shared an incredible bond. Vivian never truly recovered from the grief of losing her sister and best friend.
Multiple instances of GBM in the same family are rare. There is still not enough research to indicate whether there is a genetic causation. There was no measurable advance in treatment options or survivability in the nearly 20 years between their diagnoses. It is unacceptable that this disease should continue to be a death sentence with so few first line treatment options.
We are raising money in memory of Vivian & Alice and their incredible sister bond as Team Sister Strong: Vivian & Alice to fund new breakthrough treatments and continued genetic research to make real, measurable progress in treating and beating this disease.
