Yes! It is time again to go Joggin for the Noggin! The ABTA 5K is coming to Denver's Cheesman Park on the morning of May 4th. The ABTA is one of the organizations that furthers research, policy change, technology and advanced treatment, which are critical to me and all the people enduring brain cancer.
As always, there is no pressure, guilt, shoulds, as I know you all have causes that are near and dear to you. Be kind to those causes! Support means more than donating money (I am sure the ABTA would surely take it), but support is why I always claim to be lucky. Each of you have supported my during this cancer journey in so many ways, so regardless of whether you are able to donate funds, I am eternally grateful to each of you. If you happen to be in Denver the weekend of May 4th, please join me and the team in an effort to raise funds and awareness for the brain tumor community.
This event is something I look forward to each year. It brings about a wide range of emotions for me and I cherish every step. When I was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor, I couldn't imagine the impact it would have on my health and life. Surgery, chemo, and radiation were critical treatments, but I believed and still do that loving support and positive living are equally as powerful. While I despise cancer, this journey teaches me something every day; it challenges me to be the best person I can be, and for that, I appreciate its lessons. I am no expert on the game of life, but if I am to share from my experience: find something positive in your life everyday and share it with someone. Positive experiences are like yawns and smiles...they can be contagious and spread beyond your wildest imagination! Thanks my friends. Let's get busy livin!
My team will be participating in the BT5K Denver Breakthrough for Brain Tumors Run & Walk, an inspiring and fun event benefitting the American Brain Tumor Association.
