Can my registration be refunded or transferred to another person?
There are no transfers of registration fees to another participant or another event. Registration fees are not refundable for any reason, including inclement weather, cancellation of the event, or participant withdrawal from the event.
Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
No, registration fees are not tax-deductible. If you make a donation while registering, that is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Can I switch event activities after I've already registered?
Yes. Registrants can switch their participation type (from walker to runner or runner to walker) up until Wednesday, February 28, 2018. To do so, please contact the Events department at email@example.com or 800-886-1281.
My child is under the age of 6? Do I need to register him/her?
Children, ages 6-12, are required to register if participating in event day activities. We are unable to register children under the age of 6 for the 5K Run due to safety regulations, though they can participate in the Walk. Children under 6 are free, but will not be eligible for an event shirt.
How many people are required to form a team?
A minimum of 2 people are needed to form a team.
Can team members split up for the run and walk?
Yes, runners and walkers can be on the same team and take part in different activities. Be sure that each participant selects the appropriate activity type during the registration process.
How much is a team registration?
There is no fee to register a team. When forming or joining a team, each team member/captain is required to pay the standard registration fee. The first person to start a team will become the Team Captain.
Does registration include an event t-shirt?
Yes, each pre-registered participant will receive an event t-shirt that may be claimed at Packet Pick-Up or on the morning of the event. Children under the age of 6 are free, but do not receive a t-shirt.
Registration is available at Packet Pick-Up and on the morning of the event, but t-shirts are not guaranteed. We will make every effort to provide these participants with their requested size, but they will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
I am unable to attend the BT5K. Can I still fundraise in support of the ABTA?
Yes! Click on the Register button and select the Virtual Participant option. Virtual walkers do not pay a registration fee, but are still provided with their own personal fundraising page and tools.
Virtual walkers who raise a minimum of $50 will receive an event t-shirt. These are mailed within 2-3 weeks after the BT5K.
Registration fees are not tax-deductible. During the registration process, you will have the option to also make a donation to the ABTA. This donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
After registering, each participant can use their user name and password to log into the BT5K website. The participant center includes event information and access to BT5K fundraising tools.
