"You remind me of your Dad" a statement that warms my heart, and one of the highest compliments I can get from anyone. Truth is, I can only hope to be half the person my Dad was. There is a list of adjectives I could use to describe him, too numerous to use in this space, but I think one of he best things I ever heard said about him was - " You just look at your Dad and he makes you want to smile" , a great way to describe him, it was fun just being in the same room with him. A brain tumor took my Dad's vision, his memory, his physical strength and eventually his life, but it never took his spirit. I ran my first marathon 5 years ago to honor my Dad and his battle with a brain tumor, a battle he would lose just a few weeks later. The following year I ran to honor his memory. This year I run to honor him yet again and to raise money and awareness for a cause that means so much to me.
