I first ran with ABTA in 2013 as a participant in my first LA Marathon, in honor of my mama, Tina Cirelle, who fearlessly faced her Glioblastoma from 2006 to 2008. In 2015, my Godmother, Toni (Tina's twin), was diagnosed with a benign Meningioma. She is amazing, recovered from surgery and gets stronger every day. We walk/run together each year in the ABTA 5K in LA. I also want to remember and honor others who have faced brain tumors including Timothy Vanek, Emiel VanderSande, David Bachelder. I know that I am truly blessed with health, love, and support of so many family and friends. I have found strength and confidence in testing my endurance by running 3 LA Marathons in the last 4 years, and this year I am challenging myself to a second one within a year. I am glad to do this one for charity and appreciate your support, keeping me accountable, and helping me reach my fundraising goal.
Each day, 500 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumor. To show my support, I will be participating in the American Brain Tumor Association’s Team Breakthrough Endurance program. Money raised will provide critical funding for brain tumor research and for supportive patient care.
