On March 19, I will be running the NYC Half Marathon for the American Brain Tumor Association in memory of my boyfriend Zack's dad, John Wholley, who passed away from brain cancer in 2011. The money I raise will provide critical funding for brain tumor research and supportive patient care.
Brain tumors are the most common cancer among children, and are the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in children ages 0-19. Nearly 78,000 new cases of primary brain tumors are expected to be diagnosed this year, and nearly 700,000 people in the US are currently living with a primary brain tumor.
I'm looking forward to running 13.1 miles through Manhattan for this awesome cause! Thank you in advance for your support!
