I'm running this marathon as part of the American Brain Tumor Association's Team Breakthrough.
This is a cause very close to home. Long before I ever met Bevitt when she was eight years old, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She still has the physical scar on the side of her head were they operated but its the emotional scar of the whole ordeal that is most prominent. Every year since the event Bevitt has had to go for an MRI scan. This has gotten harder as she has got older and assumed the mental burden of this from her parents.
I'm grateful for the work the ABTA does for extending the life of patients and improving the lives of survivors. You can support me in my efforts by making a donation to the American Brain Tumor Association.
