Each day, 500 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumor. On July 2nd 2014, my family received the devastating news that my sister-in-law, Kitty was one of those 500. At the time we didn’t know what the future would bring, but we knew that this diagnosis would change all of our lives forever. It wasn’t easy, but Kitty fought long and hard. Maybe it was that Irish spirit in her, or maybe it was all the loving support she had from her family, friends, and great medical team.
Kitty ultimately lost her 2 year battle in July 2016.
In honor of Kitty, and to show our support to all the others fighting this disease, Roy and I will be running our very first marathon - The Chicago Marathon, on October 7th 2018 as part of the American Brain Tumor Association’s Team Breakthrough Endurance program. Money raised will provide critical funding for brain tumor research and for supportive patient care.
