Thank you for stopping by my fundraising page- I NEED YOUR HELP- 500 NEWLY Diagnosed people need your help.
Susan Grass was an amazing mom, sister, daughter and friend. She lit up the room with her smile and kind-hearted words. Her love for life, adventure and music paved a wonderful path that she walked. Her great (sometimes weird) sense of humor could make even the grumpiest of grumpy laugh- especially her urology jokes. She was my best friend.
October 9th, 2005 her world was rocked. Two words: Glioblastoma Multiform. Holy shit, what did they just say?” I thought. Since this was before smart phones we relied on the physicians consult and some information they printed out. I then proceeded to google and read….and read. She knew…. I knew…..She knew I knew. But like one bad ass mother- She FOUGHT. Surgery, Radiation and Chemo. For 18 months my Mom FOUGHT – Braver than anyone I had ever met, but on the evening of December 16th, 2006 heaven gained an angel and just maybe became a little brighter. Casting a slight shadow on our world forever changed. Never getting the chance to see me get married or meet my amazing children.
For those of you that know me, know that I like to run. I started running a few years after my mom died and I know she is saying “you go girl!” I am not that great at it, but I have been blessed with the ability and mental toughness to not stop I guess! I have ran countless 5ks, 10ks and Half Marathons. With 2 full marathons under my belt I am ready to take on my THIRD!!! CHICAGO, I am coming for you! I will be running the Chicago Marathon in honor of my Mom! I am running for and alongside other team members from Team Breakthrough to raise money for the American Brain Tumor Association. Money raised will provide critical funding for brain tumor research and for supportive patient care.
Please donate today and help me get closer to my goal- Your donation not only supports brain tumor patients and their families, but it also supports the breakthrough research to improve, extend and ultimately save lives.
