As you all know, my dad passed away on the 5th of September 2009 as the result of a brain tumor.  In his memory I will be riding 100 miles on my bicycle in February 2010.  I would like to ask you to support me in this endeavor by making a donation to the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA).

My dad was diagnosed with the brain tumor in 1999.  His quality of life began to deteriorate in 2006-2007 after multiple brain surgeries to remove the tumor.  In spite of the procedures, the tumor continued to grow and slowly debilitated and paralyzed him.  Eventually he was bedridden and passed away in September 2009.

In addition to my dad, there are many people living and coping with brain tumors.  The ABTA is an organization that provides funding dedicated to promoting brain tumor research and offers information and support to brain tumor patients and their families.

In order to raise funds for the ABTA, I will be cycling 100 miles in the Tour de Palm Springs on February 13, 2010.  I'm engaged in a grueling 5 days a week workout schedule in order to meet my goal.  Your donation would mean the world to me and would help me immensely in getting through this training!

I’ve set an ambitious target of raising $5000 so please donate generously... And remember, since I'm bearing all the costs of my training, 100% of your donation goes directly to the ABTA!

Thanks,

Mahesh

P.S. That’s a picture of my dad and me at my 1st birthday :)
